Flow Control Valve Completes Portable Dust Collection System
What do you need to know before you pick an airlock valve?
application.A portable dust collection supplier was commissioned to design a portable blasting recycle system of the back of a trailer. The company had already mounted a dust collector on the trailer but needed a flow control valve to allow the blasting grit to leave the system. The grit that is produced is very fine, abrasive, and free flowing. After visiting our booth at a tradeshow in Houston last year, the company remembered our Vacu-Valve and contacted Aerodyne to see if it would work with this blasting grit to act as a flow control valve.
The Vacu-Valve: A trickle valve with character
The open-construction Platypus and the closed-construction Armadillo trickle valves are the most economical ways to manage dust discharged from bag filters or cyclones under negative pressure. The fitted duckbill sleeve adjusts to the desired vacuum and material is continuously discharged. It requires no controls, lubrication or power supply and easily handles abrasive materials. This trickle valve can be used in higher temperature applications as well and can be configured with a variety of sleeve types depending on the specific needs of the application. As a bonus, the Vacu-Valve® dust discharge trickle valve is available at a fraction of the cost of the rotary airlock valves it typically replaces. This way, users are able to cut down drastically on the amount of manpower and budget they invest in rotary valves and reinvest that energy in production uptime!
The Vacu-Valve was a perfect fit for this mobile blasting recycle system. Fixed to the dust collector, it was able to control the grit powder perfectly as it left the system.
