Chemical Processing Dust Collectors
Whether you are a large chemical plant or a small facility processing chemicals, chances are you are creating dust. It can be from raw material processing, the actual chemical processing, product packaging or even a secondary system such as water treatment or energy generation. Aerodyne has a variety of dust control options that can help improve your current dust control systems.
The GPC cyclone pre-filter is ideal for the chemical industry. The GPC removes the majority of the dust before it reaches your filter. This extends the life of the filter and decreases the maintenance required on the dust collector. The GPC also acts as a spark arrester, thereby protecting the filters from catching on fire. The compact size of the GPC allows it to be installed on existing systems where a traditional cyclone won’t fit.
This unique cyclone uses a secondary airflow to capture dust. The secondary air can be either dirty, recycle, or clean. Often used on those especially difficult applications that have tough dust, such as highly abrasive material. They are best suited for applications where you are required to heat/cool the airstream and/or dust and the dust is abrasive, sticky, hygroscopic, fibrous, or friable. The secondary air enters the cyclone and travels down the cyclone wall transporting the dust into the hopper, yet keeping the particles from contacting the walls. The chemical industry often has processes that create difficult dusts, which cause high maintenance on their baghouse or creates high wastewater usage on their wet scrubbers.
The Vacu-Valve is an economical alternative to rotary valves. The Vacu-Valve can be used on dust collector hoppers or even under feed hoppers to slow down and concentrate the material. Maintenance on the Vacu-Valve can be finished in five minutes and in-situ compared to the hours required for a rotary valve.
The Aerodyne double dump valve is a low leakage airlock. At all times, one portion of the valve is closed, so there is no direct route for air to leak out. Many applications in the chemical industry are trying to prevent moisture from entering or leaving the system, and the double dump valve is ideal for these applications. The valve has a large area so oversized particulate can clear without fear of jamming or getting lodged in the valve.
The Aerodyne StopTight Knife gate has been used on hoppers for manual and pneumatic control of the hopper. The cast aluminum body and stainless steel knife plate allow for easy control of the hopper. They are also ideal for installation above a rotary valve. When closed, they will isolate the system so the rotary valve can be sent to maintenance without shutting down the system.
Rotary valves are used in a variety of applications as an airlock. They isolate the dust collector from the outside environment allowing the collected dust to exit the system. Aerodyne rotary valves have been used in a variety of chemical processing applications in the chemical industry.
