Bulk Material Handling and Dust Collection Industries

Aerodyne offers a large selection of bulk material handling and dust collection products to a variety of different industries and applications. Whether you work with wood, plastic, glass, metal or another medium dust collection is important to prevent air pollution. Our bulk material handling and dust collection products filter dust to make the air cleaner and to collect particulate for reclamation. Listed below, we review some of the more common dust collection installations by our clients.

The majority of manufacturing processes inherently generate dust that will collect around facilities if not managed properly. Without proper dust collection procedures, loose dust can cause a variety of issues ranging from a visually unkempt shop to early equipment failure, nuisances to employees, health issues to employees,  and fire and explosion risks.

Aerodyne offers downloadable handbooks for the mining, foundry, food and grain, and woodworking industries. Visit their parent industry pages to download each handbook for free.

Although selecting a dust collector can be complex, understanding the required airflow (ACFM) measurements for your application, the type and characteristics of your dust, and your removal efficiency goals are critical. With this information, a dust collection professional can help you choose the right collector for your application.

Aerodyne offers customers the option to send samples of their dust in for testing to determine:

  • Particle size analysis
  • Cyclone removal efficiency
  • Optional third party testing of combustible/explosive dust samples

Aerodyne offers a GPC (ground plate cyclone) cyclone, a SplitStream cyclone, and a traditional TR cyclone. We also offer horizontal options. These can be customized to your specific application.

  1. The GPC– this cyclone is our compact high efficiency cyclone. Because it has a ground plate, it does not require a long, tapered body for effective dust separation, and its unique compact design is available in horizontal or vertical configurations.
  2.  The SplitStream– this cyclone is best suited for tough dust and the issues that come with it. It’s capable of handling a wide range of materials with no major moving components, horizontal capability, and requires little maintenance.
  3. Traditional TR cyclone- This more traditionally built cyclone allows for the collection of large particles in an airstream when installed as a prefilter, and lowers loading strain on the system. This is a reliable, economic option.

Aerodyne also offers custom cyclones.

Aerodyne offers trickle valves, double dump valves, knife gate valves, and rotary valves. Airlock valves are necessary on dust collection systems to prevent air leakage and pressure changes, which cause a variety of other issues within the system.

  • Trickle Valves like the Vacu-Valve– Trickle valves are passive, non-powered discharge valves. The Vacu-Valve has a rub
  • Double Dump Valve– This is an industrial airlock valve with two tandem doors to discharge material without losing pressure or jamming.
  • Knife Gate Valve – Designed of hopper control, the knife gate is a basic airlock
  • Rotary Valve – Aerodyne offers a high capacity, non-NFPA rotary valve for non-combustible applications.
