A global gold mining company wanted to improve its industrial dust collection system to create a safer, cleaner, and more efficient work environment. During the mining process, ore is transferred from crushers to storage before being gravity-fed into an apron feeder. The feeder then moves the crushed material onto a conveyor for additional processing, where the gold is separated from the remaining material.
This process generates large amounts of airborne dust, requiring workers throughout the facility to wear respirators. While necessary, these respirators consumed valuable storage space and increased dust collector maintenance and operating costs because they required frequent cleaning and servicing.
