Case Study Spotlight:
A company in FL specializing in manufacturing command and communication vehicles found themselves in need of a dust collection system as they would be purchasing a CNC router machine that required a dust collector. The CNC machine would produce metal dust, and the dust collection unit would require 1300 ACFM. The company reached out to Aerodyne for suggestions on products that would fit their needs.
Applications engineer Dan suggested the company use the GPC in tandem with the Vacu-Valve for this process. The GPC dust collector is a compact high efficiency cyclone dust collector with several distinct advantages over common high-efficiency cyclone dust collectors. The spiral inlet of the GPC directs the dirty gas stream toward the ground plate and hopper of the collector. Coupled with the compact size of the collectors, this gives the GPC the ability to be installed horizontally with virtually no effect on the collection efficiency. This cyclonic dust collector can improve any dust collection system.
The open-construction of the Platypus Vacu-Valve (trickle valve) makes it one of the most economical ways to manage dust discharged from fabric filters or cyclones under negative pressure. The fitted duckbill sleeve adjusts to the desired vacuum and material is continuously discharged. It requires no controls, lubrication or power supply and easily handles abrasive materials. This trickle valve can be used in higher temperature applications as well. The Vacu-Valve® dust discharge trickle valve is available at a fraction of the cost of the rotary airlock valves it replaces. Additionally, there are multiple duck bill sleeve options available to better suit a wide variety of applications.
