Double Dump Valve Endures Years of Wear and Tear: A GatorGate Double Dump Valve Success Story

Overview

An Ohio chemical production facility utilized the same Aerodyne GatorGate Double Dump valve for more than ten years before they began to notice the valve wearing.

Double Dump Valves

This valve feeds an auger from their cyclone dust collector, helping maintain the pressure gradient, consistently removing particulate from the system, and preventing the bridging that occurs with discharged particulate. Because of the staunch success of the first valve, the company requested a replacement.

The GatorGate Double Dump valve’s lifespan can be attributed to its design and construction from heavy duty carbon or stainless steel. This tough construction prevents damage from abrasive materials that other valves may not be able to withstand. Heavy duty gear reducers and cams also ensure that a motor stays firmly connected to the GatorGate for a long time. The low maintenance nature of the GatorGate makes upkeep rare and easy, an added perk that makes the valve a staple for this particular chemical processing facility.

The GatorGate Double Dump Valve

This double flap valve feeds and moves chunky or fibrous material that tends to jam ordinary rotary valves. Durable enough to move abrasive material,  it uses tandem gates to maintain pressure above and below the valve. Additionally, it has a reinforced closure mechanism to prevent air seepage and can be configured to operate using air or electricity.
