Entrepreneurs Edwin L. Hobson, III and Mack Gordon formed Aerodyne Development Corporation in 1949 with the goal of providing pollution control and air handling systems to industries worldwide. In 1968, Aerodyne Development divided, creating Abanaki Corporation to focus exclusively on oil skimmers.

In 1989, William Miller, an engineer for Aerodyne Development, purchased the company from his employers and operated it until his retirement. In January of 2008, it was purchased by Tom Hobson, who has since expanded the original product line to better serve our customers.

Currently, the Aerodyne product line consists of material handling valves, air pollution control equipment, and more. Industries that require dust collection technology typically include foundries, mining, steel, cement, pharmaceutical, food processing, dairy, wood, power, grain, asphalt, cereal, plastics, chemical, reclamation and manufacturing.

Aerodyne shares a homebase facility with Abanaki Corporation in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. There, state-of-the-art offices and a warehouse stand to meet current and future customer needs with an exciting generation of products and services. The goal remains maintaining the industry standard for performance, productivity and pollution control in dust management and oil skimming.
